I have played sports my whole life when I was younger all the stats were recorded by hand.  Now today everything  seems to be done on computer with new programs today that do all the math for you.  Makes it pretty easy to keep up with statistics.

What is the piece of technology you use the most and why?

I have recently been sick in the past week.  During that time I went to the doctor, which is normal when you are sick.  Since I have started this class I have begun to notice things that I normally wouldn’t notice.  When the doctor came in she had a laptop with her no papers, folders, just the laptop.  Everything is done on computers now they keep up with your files what medicines you have or that you are taking currently.  It’s just a better way to keep more information in less space. 

Since I have started school library technology has been changing and will continue to change as we go.  When I was in elementary school just about everything you needed to find you had to look up in a card catalog.  Then towards the end of elementary school and into middle school it started to change more to computers.  Now just about everything you need to find you would use a computer to find it.  Many of the older methods that were being used are being outdated. 

While I was in high I had very limited use of technology.  The most technology I ever used in high school was a keyboarding class that I took to learn how to type.  Other than I might have used a computer lab maybe five times throughout high school.  But it wasn’t because they weren’t available to use its just that teachers either didn’t want to or they probably didn’t know how because they probably weren’t trained for that.  So as I came into college, lets just say that I was a little bit behind when it came to the internet and how to use it. 

The biggest problem I see is technology or lack there of.  The technology problem comes from under funding in schools.  This happens because said school system does not have adequate funding for all schools within its system.  For instance while taking my practicum a year ago I noticed that most every classroom that I observed in had one and at the most two computers.  But, teachers were able to check out a protable station with lap top computers for an entire class.  The only set back was that there were only a couple of these stations within the entire school.
